Warming Winter Soups Roundup

It’s cold out there! If you’ve been struggling to keep warm, we’re here to help. Today we’re sharing 8 of our favorite warming winter soups to keep you full and toasty in this icy winter weather.

We also made this list with timing in mind. Each of these recipes are quick to make so you can get dinner on the table fast, and have lots of leftovers for lunches throughout the week. Just make bigger batches and freeze the leftovers to enjoy when you need them.

This roundup has vegan, vegetarian, and meat-eater options, so there’s something here for everyone. We promise your family will love these recipes too — they’re all kid-approved!

Are you ready to get cooking? Here are our favorite Warming Winter Soups:

Green Goddess Soup: If you’re feeling a little under the weather, this soup is your vitamin boost. It’s a powerhouse of vitamin-rich veggies like cauliflower, zucchini, fresh herbs, and leafy greens to keep your system happy and healthy. It’s comforting and a little classy, too, with a fresh flavor that reminds us that spring is just around the corner.

Vegan Chickpea Curry: A warming, nourishing curry that you can enjoy over steamed kale or cauliflower rice. It’s filling and hearty while still being cleanse-friendly AND vegan-friendly (meatless Monday, anyone?). It’s also a quick and easy one-pot meal so you’ll save time and dishes!

*Slow Cooker Bison Stew (The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook, pg. 118): If you like a heartier meal in cold temps (and you eat meat), this stew is for you. It’s the perfect combination of savory sweet, with parsnips instead of potatoes. This one also happens to be cleanse-friendly, so if you’re cleansing you can enjoy it, too! Whether you’re cleansing or not, this robust stew is great for the whole family.

Grammy’s Greens & Cauliflower Soup: This soup was inspired by Jo’s mother-in-law, who makes the best soups! Her family typically makes it around Thanksgiving, but it’s great on any cold day. If you need a plant-based option that feels hearty and satisfying, this is the soup for you. It comes together quickly and goes down easy! Make a big batch and stash it in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy it.

*Healing Vegetable Congee (The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook, pg. 112): Congee is a traditional healing food in Chinese medicine that is easy on digestion. It’s perfect for when you’re sick, struggling with gas and bloating, or just feel like you need an extra-gentle meal. We kept it vegan in this recipe, but feel free to swap in bone broth for extra protein and digestive support.

Pumpkin Turkey Crockpot Chili: This cozy family-friendly crockpot chili is a satisfying and nutritious winter meal. It’s the perfect quick set-it-and-forget-it dish when you don’t have a lot of time to cook in the evening. This chili is a family-favorite in Jo’s household!

*Slow Cooker Butternut Lentil Soup (The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook, pg. 117): Nothing beats the feeling of coming home to a warm, nutrient-dense, hearty soup. Lentils are a great source of plant-based protein, making this slow cooker soup one of our favorites when we’re skipping meat. Just toss everything into the slow cooker and let it roll.

Coconut Curry Zucchini Soup: Are you a leftovers lover? This warming curry soup is perfect for enjoying throughout the week. Pair it with brown rice or quinoa, and you’ve got one satisfying lunch or dinner. It’s tricks like this that make cleansing and healthy eating a breeze! This recipe is fast, easy and family-friendly (just go easy on the curry at first).
